20 weeks 5 days!!!!

Things are going great these days :) I just had my monthly visit with my OB today and everything is right on track with the 'Little One'. I have been putting some effort into looking at girl names and I'm pretty sure I have it figured out already but it will be a while before I reveal it. I'm still enjoying the added energy I'm having in the 2nd trimester but I really do get worn out quickly. I have learned to do a little at a time which is extremely hard for me but I have more than me to worry about these days so I have learned to chill out.
I think my animals are finally figuring out that I am not just getting 'fat'. LOL I think my dog 'Wyatt' can just sense it as he never tries to sit on my stomach or chest anymore as he always has done since he was a pup.

I think bringing a baby into the house is going to be the worst on him. He is my spoiled little boy and has to be in the limelight constantly.

Above is my 20 week belly pic :) I just keep getting bigger and bigger but have still only managed to gain 4 lbs. which is great! The students at the school keep asking me if I'm sure there isn't two in there. I keep assuring them that there is only one precious baby in there :)

I have been slowly working on getting the baby's room cleaned out to prepare for painting and decorating. It is taking forever but it will get there. I still have 4 1/2 months but I feel that they are going to come faster than I think. I did end up finding a new desk to put my computer in my bedroom and I think it turned out pretty nice.

I finally will be getting the last of my appliances (washer & dryer) tomorrow :) I am sooooo ecstatic about this as I have been traveling with my laundry for the past month!!!!!

19 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well everything seems to be progressing nicely with my pregnancy. I had another ultrasound this past Thursday and from the limited information I had to beg from the ultrasound tech, all seems to be good. Fluid is good around the baby, 4 chambers in the heart, 3 cords in the umbilical cord, cervix looked good, no cleft palate and I got a 70% chance that I am carrying a GIRL!!!!!!!!
I am so happy that I have a healthy baby but I know that my mother really wanted a granddaughter so I am pleased that she got her wish :)

My ultrasound photos aren't the greatest but it is just amazing to me to see how fast 'Little One' is progressing.

As for me, I am getting pleasantly plump and loving every minute of it. I am still feeling really good and super excited to be reaching my half-way point in my pregnancy!!

Also very excited for this week as I will probably have my basement back in order this coming weekend! New appliances coming in Saturday!! Woo Hoo!!

18 weeks!!!!

I can't believe that I am already at 18 weeks!!!! I'm so excited that everything is going along smoothly this time. I am extremely excited for this Thursday when I hopefully find out the sex of my 'Little One'.

I haven't posted for a while because this has been the craziest last two weeks. We have been having the most awful and strange weather here in Illinois. We have been having unseasonably cool weather and torrential down pouring rain at times. I ended up with a foot or better of water in my basement which has been a very stressful ordeal for me especially since I live alone. Thank goodness for my family!! I don't know what I would do without them. These are just a few pictures of what my basement looked like...ugh!!

It has finally dried up enough in the area that I was able to have Stanley Steamer come and clean the basement. Luckily I did not lose my furnace or water heater. I wasn't so lucky with the washer, dryer and refrigerator though :(
I ordered new appliances yesterday at Lowe's after another long drawn out ordeal. I'm ready for the fun stuff now hopefully. Getting ready for my 'Little One' :)

16 weeks 3 days!!!

Well I had my monthly check up today and everything seems to be right on track. I had my belly measured and the doctor used her doppler to listen to the heartbeat :) I have only gained 2 lbs so far (which makes me happy) and my blood pressure is excellent!!
I am scheduled for my next ultrasound on June 13th where hopefully I will learn the sex of my 'Little One'. It is going to be a long two week wait but I am so very excited to see the baby again!!
I purchased my first diapers and wipes which was a first and very exciting for me :)
I'm anticipating starting on the baby's room. I feel that everything will just fly from there.

15 weeks!!!!!!

Not much to update really but I just wanted to post an updated belly pic :) Things are going much better these days. A lot less nausea!  Yay! My next ob visit is scheduled for May 29th. Hopefully then I will get my ultrasound scheduled to determine the 'Little Ones' sex.

14 weeks 3 days!!!!

I am so ecstatic to have made it through my first trimester!!! I am so elated, happy, relieved etc...
My genetic testing appointment didn't quite go as it was supposed to but I did get to have another ultrasound to see my 'Little One' again, which made me happy. They are not the best pictures in the world but 'Little One' wasn't being super cooperative by standing on its head the entire time. LOL I have a little acrobat in there I guess!

I broke down and let my co-worker take my first belly picture this morning after trying on a college t-shirt that I had ordered. It will fit me better after pregnancy but I didn't think it was too horrible with my baby bump :) You can let me know what you think.

I can't express how excited I am to be pregnant!! I have been exceptionally calm and in a wonderful state of mind. I'm sure with time I will become more nervous as it all begins to set in. All I know is that I am going to be the best mom that I possibly can be :)

Genetic Testing

Well after taking to my OB at my last visit I am going to go to a specialist in Peoria for an in-depth ultrasound to check on genetics. Personally, it doesn't matter to me if my baby has problems because I will love it all the same. I was not happy with any of the genetic testing that they could offer me here in Galesburg and was going to skip all of it. My doctor explained to me that she would like to see me do some sort of testing as our hospital does not have the capabilities to take care of newborns with genetic problems. I don't want any false-positives and I definitely didn't want to do an Amnio with the risk associated with that. Apparently, this appointment will be a very detailed ultrasound. I will even get to see my 'little one' in 4D!! :) I go for this appointment on May 13th. Luckily, all of these tests are covered by insurance except for the blood test. It is called a 'Harmony' test. It picks up the baby's DNA through my blood and is super accurate I guess. I will not be having this blood test, however, as it costs $800 and insurance does not cover it!
Other than this news, I am just waiting for my next OB appointment on May 29th. I haven't gone out and bought anything yet for my 'little one' yet. I guess I am just holding off for a bit longer.
I have had to buy maternity clothes as nothing is fitting me anymore :) That proved more challenging than I thought. It is amazing how many stores do not carry maternity clothes! Thank heavens for Kohls!! I did order a few things online from Old Navy but I am just a person who likes to try things on which makes it troublesome.
